Seems that the "narcissistic identity disorders" (NID) identified as prevalent in the second half of the 20th Century have met up with electronic mass communication (EMC), enabling the latter to function as (in Freudian terms) the superego, or society's agent in the mind. Logged onto EMC, the NID takes "personal messages" from EMC, and aggrandizes his toxic narcissism by acting out violence, if he is so inclined.
