SAVIOR ARCHETYPE

The story of the Savior Archetype is an ancient one shared by many cultures throughout the world reaching back into the mists of time. Their accounts--the objective data of the world's sacred scriptures--show that the Savior Archetype, or motif, with significant parallels among many of the world's religions, must spring from some deeply human psychic structure that is ahistorical and rather universal. Probably there was independent development in each culture--from ancient Peru to China--except possibly the Zoroastrian influence on Judaism during the Babylonian captivity and the later Hellenistic Age.

In any case, Easter is a day of renewal and hope that springs eternal.

Peace, be still, and revive; and know that the holy sentiment comes to us from a deeply empyrean place in deep time.
